About the Event
Join local ornithologist and naturalist Michael Turner on the first of our seasonal nature and cabinet of curiosities sessions.
This guided walk explores the beautiful Lower Derwent Valley, looking at the wonderful flora and fauna to be found throughout the year.
After the walk, we will return to the Heritage Centre to have a chat and take a look at some of Michael’s personal collection of natural curiosities including fossils, skulls, feathers, insects and a whole lot more!
Michael can also advise on starting your own collection of natural curiosities.
The first of our nature walks available to book is in the spring. Look out for separate listings for the next of our seasonal walks.
The walk will be on regular pathways with some slight gradients. Please bring binoculars if you have them and dress appropriately with stout footwear, waterproofs may be necessary depending on the weather.
Sorry, no dogs please.
