About the Event

This free event is part of the national Heritage Open Days events.

The Derwent Valley is steeped in natural and industrial history, where often the two merge into one.

This guided walk will take in old ruins, a historic ford and look into how hidden nature helps develop this ancient woodland with the help of birds and fungi.

The event will start at The Heritage Centre in Winlaton Mill. Meet in the Courtyard to the rear of the building.

The Walk will be on regular footpaths with gentle inclines, but please wear appropriate footwear and clothing. Sorry no dogs allowed on the walk.

Also there is the option to purchase brunch or a hot drink to warm you up as you chat about the things you discovered on your walk.
