About the Event

Join local author and historian Anthea Lang for this fascinating, illustrated talk about Gateshead during the Victorian period.

Gateshead completely changed character during the 19th century as increasing industrialisation led to a population expansion. But where and how did these people live?

Anthea will explore the difficulties for the poor alongside the chances for the rich in this illustrated talk.

Formerly Local History and Heritage Manager for Gateshead Council, Anthea is really knowledgeable about the history of the north east and has written many local history books.

Come along to this relaxed evening to enjoy this fascinating talk while enjoying a glass of wine and platter of nibbles.

There will also be the opportunity to ask questions and chat to Anthea at the end of the talk.

Booking essential, tickets £14.50 including glass of wine and platter of nibbles (vegetarian/vegan option available).

Our evening talks are really popular and often sell out quickly.
